Claremont Conservative Adds Tina Nguyen as Contributor, Cartoonist

As many of you have recently discovered, Tina Nguyen, my girlfriend and best friend, has recently been admitted to Claremont McKenna. In the past, Tina has drawn several cartoons for this blog and its staff.

I am pleased to announce that she wants to join The Claremont Conservative this summer and leave you with one of her most recent cartoons about her reaction to being admitted to Claremont McKenna. Welcome aboard.

This is not as eloquent as Charles's reaction, but I believe it's a fairly accurate depiction of what actually went on, ice cream and all.

Could there be nepotism in our midst?

Well, if the foxy lesbian has taught us anything, it's that dating somebody pretty much means you acquire all of their experiences and skills.

Citizen X, if there's another thing the foxy lesbian has taught us, it's that you don't rush to attack the vast right-wing conspiracy so quickly.

Nepotism is when a person is chosen on the basis of a personal relationship over ability. I would never let our relationship be a factor in joining the CC--in fact, I would hope that Charles let me join because I was capable enough. Otherwise that'd be just plain condescending.

Plus I've written like, what, two cartoons that had nothing to do with events at CMC? Am I even part of the community yet, let alone able to comment on it? Wait until the day that, despite my long-term inundation in 5C life, I've screwed up spectacularly on the Claremont Conservative in covering an event. THEN you can call nepotism and I'll be the first to accept it :-P

La coeur a ses raisons, que la raison ne connait pas...

Of course I was merely jesting. The idea that anybody is unqualified to write for the CC is fundamentally silly.

Seriously though, I've always said that the CC needed more comics. It's the one thing keeping it from going to blog to slightly-better blog.

LOL Pascal.

of course I shall be pleased to bring the noble arts to the Claremont Conservative. We're a real class act here, we are.
