85,000 Readers Can't Be Wrong!

Dear readers,

This was a pretty uneventful weekend. We hit the 85,000 reader mark early Sunday morning. Just letting you know.

does that mean millions of readers of the nytimes, dailykos, huffington post, can't be wrong either?

You sort of have to compare like markets to like markets.

Say, The Claremont Independent, Port Side, or the Student Life?

Thanks.

By the way, the only newspaper that is really growing is the Wall Street Journal.

Congratulations. Does that 85,000 represent total hits, unique users, or some other metric? This being the interweb, "readers" is a little ambigious.

Unique visitors.

It's rather uncouth to continue bragging about your stats, isn't it?

I know you're really happy about it, and really, I'm happy for you, but it's not that impressive.

I assume this "argument from authority" is tongue-in-cheek or whatever, but it's just getting a little staid. Besides, TSL is in print, so it's not a like market.

Did you know that Perez Hilton gets something like 198 million pageviews per month? Or, to use an example closer to home, that you're still way behing something like "Sex and the Ivy?"

Does that mean that they're more "right" than you?

All I know is I visit this site out of some deep rooted masochistic desire to be infuriated, and I'm pretty sure there are countless others like me.
